Developmental Academy
Designed for young soccer players (U7-U12) who are eager to enhance their individual skills in a focused, development-first environment, this offers a structured, consistent, and skills-based environment to maximize growth at these pivotal ages, all while ensuring a fun and exciting experience for every player.
How the Program Works
The Developmental Academy offers 8 weeks of training during the Recreational season. Players have the opportunity to attend up to two (2) DA sessions per week, in addition to their regular Recreational team practices.
The Developmental Academy offers:
Expert Coaching: Sessions are organized and run by experienced coaches from our Select Staff, who are nationally licensed and dedicated to player development.
Curriculum-Driven Development: We utilize the Stones River FC Coaching Curriculum to introduce players to topics and activities that align with our Development Model for U7-U12 players.
Individual Focus: The program prioritizes individual player development, helping each participant learn how to train effectively and build age-appropriate skills.
Exciting Changes for Fall 2025!
For Fall 2025, the Stones River FC Developmental Academy will have an updated format, while retaining its core spirit, purpose, and mission. It will now be a stand-alone training program offered to all Stones River FC Recreational players.
This change allows players to:
Continue receiving age-appropriate technical training led by our nationally licensed coaches.
Enjoy a traditional recreational team experience within our league.
The Developmental Academy is an add-on program that players can choose to participate in in addition to practicing with their recreational team.
Families can choose to sign up for the entire 8-week season ($50 for the season) or opt for single sessions ($10 per session). Please note that spaces are limited for both options, and a waitlist will be used if needed.

Player Expectations: While we aim for an inclusive and fun environment, we expect players to be ready, willing, and able to train. The primary focus is on developing age-appropriate skills and overall long-term development in a fun yet focused setting. Players should genuinely want to learn how to train. We reserve the right to remove players from sessions or the program if their participation becomes a distraction or detriment to others' experiences.
